Στα προημιτελικά του Ρολάν Γκαρός η Σαμπαλένκα

Ένα βήμα πιο κοντά στην κατάκτηση του τροπαίου στο Ρολάν Γκαρός -για πρώτη φορά στην καριέρα της- βρίσκεται η Αρίνα Σαμπαλένκα...

Η Λευκορωσίδα τενίστρια, η οποία είναι Νο 1 στην παγκόσμια κατάταξη και το κυρίως ταμπλό, επιβλήθηκε στο πλαίσιο του 4ου γύρου της Ναόμι Οσάκα από την Ιαπωνία με 7-5, 6-3, ύστερα από αγώνα που κράτησε μια ώρα και 27 λεπτά, και πήρε το «εισιτήριο» για τα προημιτελικά του φημισμένου τουρνουά γκραν σλαμ. Εκεί η 28χρονη τενίστρια θα αντιμετωπίσει την Τετάρτη τη Ρωσίδα Ντιάνα Σνάιντερ (Νο 23 στην παγκόσμια κατάταξη και Νο 25) στο κυρίως ταμπλό) με «έπαθλο» μια θέση στην τετράδα του κορυφαίου χωμάτινου τουρνουά.

 

«Γίνομαι όλο και καλύτερη με κάθε ματς» δήλωσε μετά τη νίκη της η Σαμπαλένκα, η οποία έχει κατακτήσει τέσσερις τίτλους σε τουρνουά γκραν σλαμ, δύο στο Australian Open (2023, 2024) και δύο στο US Open (2024, 2025).
