O Βαβρίνκα αποκλείστηκε στον 1ο γύρο του Roland Garros

Ο νικητής του τουρνουά το 2015, Ελβετός Σταν Βαβρίνκα (Νο. 113), αποκλείστηκε (25/5) στον πρώτο γύρο του Roland Garros, στην τελευταία του εμφάνιση σε ηλικία 41 ετών. 

 Τρεις φορές πρωταθλητής Grand Slam, ο Ελβετός παίκτης έχασε με 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 από τον Ολλανδό Γέσπερ ντε Γιονγκ (Νο. 106 στην κατάταξη), ο οποίος είχε αποκλειστεί στα προκριματικά, αλλά του δόθηκε μια δεύτερη ευκαιρία στο κυρίως ταμπλό μετά την αποχώρηση του Γάλλου Άρθουρ Φιλς (Νο. 20 στην κατάταξη) λόγω τραυματισμού. 

 Ο Ελβετός πρώην Νο. 3 στον κόσμο, αγωνίστηκε στο 21ο Roland Garros πριν αποσυρθεί στο τέλος της σεζόν.
