Ο Ζβέρεφ εκτός Γουίμπλεντον!

Ο Αλεξάντερ Ζβέρεφ έγινε το υψηλότερο seed στο ταμπλό των Ανδρών που αποχαιρέτησε το Γουίμπλεντον από τον πρώτο γύρο, καθώς ηττήθηκε σε πέντε σετ-θρίλερ από τον Γάλλο Αρτούρ Ριντκερκνές.

 

Το Νο3 του ταμπλό είχε βρεθεί ισόπαλος 1-1 σετ με τον Ριντκερκνές τη Δευτέρα (30/6), όταν ο αγώνας διεκόπη λόγω σκότους. Με την επανέναρξη στην κεντρική σάλα, ο 28χρονος Γάλλος επικράτησε με 7-6(3), 6-7(8), 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-4, σε μία σκληρή μάχη που διήρκεσε σχεδόν τέσσερις ώρες.

 

Αυτή ήταν η πρώτη ήττα του Ζβέρεφ σε πρώτο γύρο Γκραν Σλαμ από το Γουίμπλεντον του 2019 και παραμένει χωρίς major τίτλο μετά από 38 συμμετοχές σε κορυφαία τουρνουά.

 

Ο Ριντκερκνές, Νο82 στον κόσμο, θα αντιμετωπίσει στον δεύτερο γύρο τον Χιλιανό Κριστιάν Γκαρίν.

 

Με τον αποκλεισμό του Ζβέρεφ, οι παίκτες που αποχαιρέτησαν το Γουίμπλεντον από τον πρώτο γύρο φτάνουν τους 12 στους 32 seeded του ανδρικού ταμπλό - γεγονός που επιβεβαιώνει τη φετινή "αιματοχυσία" των φαβορί.
