Τα «χρειάστηκε» αλλά έκανε το δύο στα δύο η Άρσεναλ

Αν και δυσκολεύτηκε να σπάσει την σκληρή άμυνα της Κρίσταλ Πάλας, η Άρσεναλ κατάφερε να διατηρήσει το προβάδισμα του 0-1 και να φύγει με το τρίποντο από το «Σέλχουρστ Παρκ».

Οι «κανονιέρηδες» έδειξαν κάνα αρκετά θετικό πρόσωπο και έφτασαν μια «ανάσα» από το γκολ στο 29', όταν ο Ενκέτια σημάδεψε το δοκάρι.

Οι γηπεδούχοι αμύνονταν σθεναρά, αλλά μία στιγμιαία αδράνεια στο 54' τους κόστισε. Ο Ενκέτια έφυγε ανενόχλητος στην πλάτη της άμυνας μετά από στημένη μπάλα και ο Τζόνστοουν τον ανέτρεψε. Ο Όντεγκαρντ ανέλαβε την «έσχατη των ποινών» και την μετέτρεψε σε γκολ.

Τα τελευταία είκοσι λεπτά, όμως, ήταν «αιώνας» για τους παίκτες του Μικέλ Αρτέτα, καθώς χρειάστηκε να αγωνιστούν με δέκα παίκτες από το 67' λόγω της αποβολής του Τομιγιάσου με δεύτερη κίτρινη.

Η Πάλας «πολιόρκησε» την εστία του Ράμσντεϊλ, αλλά δεν κατάφεραν να την παραβιάσει και έτσι το 0-1 έμεινε ως το τέλος.
