"Xαιρέτησε" το Σινσινάτι ο Τσιτσιπάς...

Μετά από τον Ντανιίλ Μεντβέντεφ, εκτός συνέχειας στο τουρνουά του Σινσινάτι τέθηκε και ο Στέφανος Τσιτσιπάς. Ο Έλληνας τενίστας ηττήθηκε από τον Χούμπερτ Χουρκάτς με 6-3, 6-4 σε μόλις 63 λεπτά. Με 11 άσους, ο Πολωνός τενίστας ήταν ανώτερος του Τσιτσιπά. Ο "Tsitsifast" ολοκλήρωσε την αναμέτρηση με 14 winners και 14 αβίαστα λάθη, ενώ από την πλευρά του ο Χουρκάτς είχε 22 winners, αλλά και 20 λάθη. 

O Πολωνός πήρε τα πρώτα 3 games της αναμέτρησης, ο Τσιτσιπάς προσπάθησε να πάρει πίσω το break έχοντας στη διάθεσή του διπλό break-point (15/40), αλλά ο Χουρκάτς το έσβησε και με σερί πόντους έκανε το 5-2 για να κλείσει το set λίγο αργότερα με 6-3. 

Στο δεύτερο σετ δεν άλλαξαν πολλά, ο Χουρκάτς έκανε το 2-0. Στη συνέχεια κανείς δεν κατάφερε να απειλήσει το service του άλλου με τον Χουρκάτς να φτάνει στη νίκη και στην πρόκριση στα προημιτελικά του Σινσινάτι εκεί όπου θα αντιμετωπίσει τον Αυστραλό Αλεξέι Πόπιριν, ο οποίος κέρδισε νωρίτερα τον Φινλανδό Έμιλ Ρουσουβόρι με 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.
