Πρωτιά για Καραλή στο επί κοντώ με 5,70μ.

Την πρώτη θέση στο επί κοντώ του μίτινγκ της πόλης Στσέσιν (Πολωνία), κατέλαβε ο Εμμανουήλ Καραλής, ξεπερνώντας τα 5,70 μέτρα. 

Ο «ασημένιος» πρωταθλητής Ευρώπης στον κλειστό προσπάθησε και στα 5,82μ., αλλά είχε τρεις αποτυχημένες προσπάθειες. Το συγκεκριμένο ύψος αποτελεί ατομικό ρεκόρ για τον Καραλή στον ανοιχτό στίβο και το είχε ξεπεράσει στις 4 Αυγούστου εξασφαλίζοντας και το «εισιτήριο» για τους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες στο Παρίσι.

Στο Στσέσιν αγωνίστηκε και ο Μάριος Τριβυζάς που τερμάτισε στην τρίτη θέση στα 100μ. με 10.83 (0,4), ενώ λίγο αργότερα βρέθηκε στην εκκίνηση και των 200 μ. όπου λίγο πριν τον τερματισμό ένιωσε ενοχλήσεις και σταμάτησε. Στα 400 μ. ο Κυριάκος Τσικιλής τερμάτισε στην έκτη θέση με 51.06.
