Πήρε «εκδίκηση» και πρόκριση ο Τσιτσιπάς

Τέσσερις μήνες μετά τον αποκλεισμό του στη Μαγιόρκα, ο Στέφανος Τσιτσιπάς πήρε «εκδίκηση» από τον Γιάνικ Χάνφμαν στην Αμβέρσα και με 2-0 σετ επί του 31χρονου Γερμανού (νο56 στον κόσμο) πήρε την πρόκριση για τους ημιτελικούς του European Open.

Αντίπαλος του Έλληνα πρωταθλητή στην τετράδα θα είναι ο νικητής του αγώνα ανάμεσα στον Άρθουρ Φις (Γαλλία) και Χουάν Πάμπλο Βαρίλας (Περού), με τον οποίο θα ολοκληρωθεί το σημερινό πρόγραμμα.

Το νο7 της παγκόσμιας κατάταξης έφτασε στη νίκη κατακτώντας με 6-3 και τα δύο σετ, μετά από 70 λεπτά αγώνα, και για 2η φορά στην καριέρα του (η πρώτη ήταν το 2017) θα βρεθεί στους «4» του τουρνουά της Αμβέρσας. 

Να υπενθυμιστεί ότι ο Στέφανις Τσιτσιπάς έχει περάσει ήδη και στα ημιτελικά του διπλού μαζί με τον αδερφό του Πέτρο, με τα δύο αδέρφια να παίζουν το Σάββατο (21/10) με τους Αρνεόντο (Μονακό) και Βάισμπορν (Αυστρία).
