Ο Παπαμιχαήλ 29ος στα 35 χλμ. βάδην με πανελλήνιο ρεκόρ

Την 29η θέση με νέο πανελλήνιο ρεκόρ κατέλαβε ο Αλέξανδρος Παπαμιχαήλ στον τελικό των 35 χιλιομέτρων βάδην, στο πλαίσιο της 10ης και τελευταίας ημέρας του Παγκοσμίου Πρωταθλήματος στίβου στο Όρεγκον.

Ο 33χρονος αθλητής κάλυψε την απόσταση σε 2:34:48 και συνέτριψε το (δικό του) ρεκόρ, το οποίο είχε σημειώσει στις 28 Φεβρουαρίου 2021 στα Μέγαρα, στο Πανελλήνιο Πρωτάθλημα 35 χιλιομέτρων βάδην, με 2:36:45. Υπενθυμίζεται ότι με τη σημερινή εμφάνιση του έμπειρου πρωταθλητή ολοκληρώθηκαν οι ελληνικές συμμετοχές στο Παγκόσμιο του Όρεγκον.

 

Στο μεταξύ, το χρυσό μετάλλιο στα 35 χιλιόμετρα βάδην κατέκτησε μετά από μεγάλη μάχη ο Μάσιμο Στάνο. Ο Ιταλός βαδιστής ολοκλήρωσε την προσπάθειά του σε 2:23:14, επίδοση που αποτελεί ρεκόρ αγώνων, και άφησε ελάχιστα πίσω του τον Μασατόρα Καουάνο, αφού ο Ιάπωνας κάλυψε την απόσταση των 35 χιλιομέτρων σε 2:23:15 και σημείωσε νέο ρεκόρ Ασίας. Την τριάδα του βάθρου συμπλήρωσε ο Σουηδός Περσέους Κάλστρεμ με 2:23:44, χρόνος που αποτελεί ατομικό ρεκόρ.
