Με το "δεξί" η Σάκκαρη

 Ιδανικό ξεκίνημα για την Μαρία Σάκκαρη στο Mubadala Citi Open της Ουάσινγκτον, αφού νίκησε με 7-5,6-2 την Λέιλα Άνι Φερνάντες, έπειτα από 97 λεπτά παιχνιδιού, εξασφαλίζοντας έτσι την παρουσία της στην τελική 8άδα της διοργάνωσης.

 

 Συναρπαστικό το πρώτο σετ, όπου αμφότερες  έκαναν πολλά break με την Σάκκαρη να βγαίνει κερδισμένη από την διαδικασία. Η ελληνίδα πρωταθλήτρια πήρε τα πρώτα τρία games κάνοντας μάλιστα δύο breaks. Η Φερνάντες πήρε πίσω το ένα από αυτά αρχικά και στη συνέχεια ισοφάρισε σε 4-4. Όμως στη συνέχεια η Σάκκαρη  κατάφερε να πάρει τρία από τα επόμενα τέσσερα games για να κλείσει το πρώτο σετ με 7-5.

 Πιο εύκολα τα πράγματα για τη Σάκακρη στο δεύτερο σετ , όπου  προηγήθηκε  με 4-0 για να φτάσει στην κατάκτησή του (6-2) και τη νίκη.

 Ο αγώνας  «μετακινήθηκε»για σήμερα, λόγω της έντονης και ασταμάτητης βροχής στην Ουάσινγκτον, που είχε ως αποτέλεσμα τη διακοπή της αγωνιστικής δράσης  χθες στο πρόγραμμα.

 Η Μαρία Σάκκαρη  που συνδίασε την επιστροφή της στους αγώνες  με νίκη  θα αντιμετωπίσει την Μάντισον Κις, διεκδικώντας θέση  στα ημιτελικά του τουρνουά.
