ΗΠΑ-Πεντάγωνο: «Δεν είμαστε σε πόλεμο με τους Χούθι»

Οι ΗΠΑ δεν είναι σε πόλεμο με τους Χούθι, υπογράμμισε σήμερα εκπρόσωπος του αμερικανικού Πενταγώνου, κατά την ενημέρωση για τον πέμπτο γύρο επιθέσεων εναντίον των υποστηριζόμενων από το Ιράν ανταρτών στην Υεμένη.

Η Σαμπρίνα Σινγκ είπε ότι τα πλήγματα, συμπεριλαμβανομένων σημερινών που είχαν στόχο αντιπλοϊκούς πυραύλους, είχαν καθαρά αμυντικό χαρακτήρα.

«Δεν είμαστε σε πόλεμο με τους Χούθι», είπε η εκπρόσωπος του αμερικανικού υπουργείου Άμυνας, συμπληρώνοντας: «Οι Χούθι είναι εκείνοι που εξακολουθούν να εκτοξεύουν πυραύλους κρουζ, αντιπλοϊκούς πυραύλους, εναντίον αθώων ναυτικών... Αυτό που κάνουμε, μαζί με τους εταίρους μας, είναι νόμιμη άμυνα».
