ΗΠΑ: Δύο άνθρωποι αγνοούνται μετά τις καταστροφικές πυρκαγιές στο Κολοράντο

Δύο άνθρωποι αγνοούνται μετά τις πυρκαγιές που κατέστρεψαν εκατοντάδες κατοικίες την Πέμπτη στην αμερικανική πολιτεία Κολοράντο, έγινε σήμερα γνωστό από τις αρχές.

 

Αφότου έλαβαν εκατοντάδες τηλεφωνήματα από ανήσυχους συγγενείς, οι υπηρεσίες διάσωσης εντόπισαν σχεδόν όλους τους εκτοπισμένους από τις φλόγες, όμως υπάρχουν «δύο αγνοούμενοι», δήλωσε στο Γαλλικό Πρακτορείο η Τζένιφερ Τσέρτσιλ, εκπρόσωπος τύπου του γραφείου διαχείρισης εκτάκτων καταστάσεων του Μπόλντερ.

 

«Ερευνάμε» τις υποθέσεις τους, συμπλήρωσε, χωρίς να υπεισέλθει σε λεπτομέρειες.

 

Χθες, ο σερίφης της κομητείας του Μπόλντερ Τζο Πέλι δήλωσε πως κανένας θάνατος δεν έχει προς το παρόν αναφερθεί, κάτι που μοιάζει «σαν θαύμα», δεδομένης της σφοδρότητας και ταχύτητας της φωτιάς.

 

Τουλάχιστον 500 σπίτια κάηκαν και δεκάδες χιλιάδες άνθρωποι αναγκάστηκαν να εγκαταλείψουν τις εστίες τους, κυνηγημένοι από τις φλόγες, οι οποίες κατέστρεψαν ολόκληρες συνοικίες «σ’ ένα ανοιγοκλείσιμο του ματιού», σύμφωνα με τον κυβερνήτη του Κολοράντο Τζάρεντ Πόλις.

 

Οι χιονοπτώσεις που σημειώθηκαν χθες σταμάτησαν την εξάπλωση της πυρκαγιάς.
