«Αντίο»... με το καλημέρα

Πρόωρο «αντίο» από το US Open είπε η Μαρία Σάκκαρη. Η Ελληνίδα πρωταθλήτρια ηττήθηκε με 2-0 σετ (6-4, 6-4) από την Ισπανίδα, Ρεμπέκα Μασαρόβα στην πρεμιέρα της στο τουρνουά, κι αποχαιρέτησε από πολύ νωρίς το τελευταίο Major για το 2023.

«Κλειδί» στην εξέλιξη του ματς ήταν το πρώτο σετ. Η Σάκκαρη προηγήθηκε με 4-2 κι έδειχνε έτοιμη να προηγηθεί, αλλά ξαφνικά υπέστη «μπλακ άουτ». Η Μασαρόβα πήρε τέσσερα διαδοχικά game, φέρνοντας τα πάνω κάτω και κάνοντας το 1-0.

Με τη ψυχολογία στα ύψη η Ισπανίδα κατάφερε να διαχειριστεί καλύτερα το παιχνίδι στο δεύτερο σετ, έκανε το μπρέικ που χρειαζόταν κι έφτασε στο 6-4 και στη νίκη.
